In this section of the website, we introduce you to one of our firms. Up next is Dublin-based firm LHB Accounting Ltd TA Liam Burns & Co, run by owner Liam Burns. Read his answers to our questions to get to know him and the firm better.

What do you like about working for your firm?

“The staff I work with make the firm a pleasant place to work. Gaining a sense of achievement – from improving the efficiencies of the firm to the satisfaction of seeing staff progress their skills and ambitions is important to me, and also having the independence to work at a flexible pace that suits me and the firm. I enjoy chatting to clients both formally and informally while assisting them with their business and learning from their experiences.”

What are in your words the strengths of your firm?

“A key strength of the firm is our communication skills – both our prompt responses to client queries and requests, as well as having the ability to give client’s comfort in knowing that we are there for them in good times and bad – to be able to put their mind at ease, for example when faced with revenue enquiries, that tend to frighten people.”

“I also see the firm adopting new technologies to improve efficiencies.”

What is the best or most rewarding experience you have had at your firm so far?

“Best experience was starting the firm from scratch. Achieving the goal of setting up a practice and building a client base.”

What result you achieved for a client, are you most proud of?

“Assisting a start-up business – the owner had been reluctant to take the risk of starting a business that he had spoken of doing for a number of years. With our guidance and experience, we outlined a path of action and the individual followed the steps and 3 years on is running a successful professional services business – living his dream.”

Which conditions do you think a ‘firm of the future’ should meet?

“Use technology to create efficiencies for basic compliance services, leaving more time to spend on creating additional value for clients.”

How do you see the future of your firm from your perspective?

“As the firm grows as part of the Xeinadin group, I expect that the firm will have the ability to provide additional services through resources available and contacts within the group. I also see the firm adopting new technologies to improve efficiencies.”
