What do you like about working for your firm?
“We have a great team of people who work well together and who care about our clients. Our clients value and rely on our expert advice and it’s nice to make a difference to our clients’ lives.”
What are in your words the strengths of your firm?
“Being in practice for almost 27 years, we have built up a deep understanding of what it takes for our clients to successfully grow their business, with the right structures in place to retain maximum profits after taxes. We invest heavily in training and education, so we can provide clients with the most recent thinking, be it tax, online accounting or business models.”

Patrick Sutton, Managing Partner of O’Kelly Sutton.
What is the most valuable lesson you have learned at your firm?
“Listening and learning, every day is a school day. We find the clients who are most successful are those with open minds and willing to change when required. Our team of people are our most important asset, so management, investment and communication with the team is vital.”
What is the best or most rewarding experience you have had at your firm so far?
“Seeing clients succeed is always a rewarding experience, it makes the hard work worthwhile. Being awarded national small practice of the year in 2016 was a great boost for the team and gave us the confidence to move forward to grow the firm by acquiring a local tax practice in 2018.”
What is your favourite statement that you regularly use when advising your clients?
“Always run your business if you were about to sell it in the morning”
Patrick Sutton, Managing Partner of O’Kelly Sutton.
What result you achieved for a client, are you most proud of?
“There are many key results we’ve achieved over the years including substantial tax savings through corporate restructuring, successful company disposals where we would have valued and sold the business giving life-changing results to shareholders, making real changes to shareholder value through decisions made from providing real-time management accounts, etcetera.”
How do you see the future of your firm from your perspective?
“Highly automated systems and processes, with more specialised advisors in certain areas. Client-focused through continuous analysis of their needs and providing solutions, with highly qualified, educated and interactive teams serving clients’ needs.”
