Break down the barriers in the way of your growth

“Most of us spend too much time on what is urgent and not enough on what is important” Stephen R. Covey

Those of you who came to our first Rise session will be clear about the value of setting personal and business goals. You may even have started thinking about your own goals. But it’s highly likely you’ve also thought about why you can’t set to work on some of those goals right now.

Because everyone does. There are always barriers in the way. And here’s the difference between those that achieve their goals and those that don’t. The former recognise that those barriers can be overcome by thinking about them differently.

And understanding that is the key step to closing the gap between who you are and who you want to be. It’s how you stop failing and start truly achieving.

First, it’s important to understand that there are two different types of obstacles: mental (imaginary) problems – “I don’t have the skillset”, or “I don’t have the time”, and the ‘real’ problems – those based on hard facts.

You may feel your resources are limited – and yes, cash might be limited; but everyone has the same number of hours in the day. And if a crisis happened, you’d find time to deal with it – and if you can find the time for that, you can certainly find the time to work on your goal and change your life for the better.

What’s more, even if your goal is unachievable by conventional means, why not apply some creative thinking? Maybe there’s another way to do it that nobody else has thought of. Different materials, different methods, or even redefining how customers think about it – think of the Paralympics campaign, “Meet the Superhumans”. Thinking about things in the conventional way only gets you to where your competitors got to.

If you really want to press the ‘boost’ button, book yourself in for the next session of Xeinadin’s Rise Programme.

It’ll give you step-by-step strategies for breaking down those barriers. It’ll help you see those ‘real’ problems differently – as your view of them changes, your mental obstacles will start to look different as well. And as the obstacles get fewer, the main goal will feel more achievable.

It’ll help you to change the habits that hinder you into more productive practices. And it’ll show you how changing key habits can have a ripple effect, eliminating unhelpful habits you weren’t even trying to change!
