Making Tax Digital For Income Tax (MTDIT)
Introduced by HMRC to streamline and modernise the tax process, Making Tax Digital for Income Tax (MTDIT) offers additional compliance obligations for those affected, but where the set-up is done correctly there are benefits as well.

Navigating Making Tax Digital
At Xeinadin we know that tax changes can feel like just another burden on your time and resources. If you’re already balancing the demands of running a business or managing property, the last thing you need is extra reporting requirements.
Understanding and implementing MTDIT is crucial to ensure your business is compliant and tax processes are streamlined. Our team of experts can assist you in taking your tax management to the next level.
What is MTDIT and who is affected?
- As part of HMRC’s initiative to reduce the tax gap and digitise tax, MTDIT is being introduced if you have self-employment or property income.
- Individuals who have a gross income from self-employment and property, whether UK or foreign, exceeding £50,000 will need to comply with MTDIT starting April 2026.
- Further Income Threshold Changes: From April 2027, the threshold will drop to £30,000; From April 2028, it will further decrease to £20,000.
